A new vehicle has been added to the fleet of fueling trucks at the airport of Domodedovo. The truck has been purchased by the Refueling Company Shell and Aerofuels (Joint Venture of ShellAviation and Aerofuels Group) which for over 10 has been operating years as an alternative aviation fuel supplier at the largest Russian airport Domodedovo. The fueling truck TZA-60 of 2012 production year was manufactured by a Russian company NPO (Research and Production Association) Aviatekhnologiya (Aviation Technology) and complies not only with the Russian standards and requirements, but also fully conforms to the specifications of ShellAviation.
It is the first vehicle with such capacity in the fleet of fueling trucks belonging to Shell and Aerofuels. There are plans to use TZA-60 to refuel flights of air company Asiana and others, when it is necessary to refuel aircrafts at the apron where it is not equipped with a hydrant system.

A new social and economic project becomes the 17th TZK in the Aerofuels network.
After the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev visited the Kuril Islands in November 2010 and a course towards creating conditions for steady social and economic development of the Kuril Islands was declared, Aerofuels Group has made a decision to take upon itself the reconstruction of a refueling complex at Mendeleevo Airport of Yuzhno-Kurilsk on the island of Kunashir without the use of budget funds. On December, 28th Rosaviatsiya (the Federal Air Transport Agency) issued a full certificate of compliance for receipt, storage and refueling aircrafts with aviation fuel. January 2012 saw the start of regular refueling for Sakhalinskie Aviatrassy Airlines (SAT) aircrafts which perform flights to Sakhalin.
“At the end of 2011 Mendeleevo Airport was opened on the island of Kunashir. Within the framework of the federal purpose-oriented program “Social and economic development of the Kuril Islands” Rosaviatsiya has performed a grand-scale reconstruction of this vital facility which provides the inhabitants of the Kuril Islands with the transport accessibility of “the mainland”. Taking into account that the development of the Far East is one of the high priority directions of Russian social and economic policy as well as the fact that as of today we are actively represented in the Far East (our company has built and is operating refueling complexes in Kamchatka, Vladivostok and Blagoveshensk), Aerofuels Group has decided to make a contribution to the development of the region”, says Vladimir Spiridonov, general director of Aerofuels Group. “Of course, we understand that this refueling point constitutes 0.5% of the total amount of fuel supplied by our company. We consider Yuzhno-Kurilsk more as a social and economic project. We have everything required to ensure regular aviation fuel supply and organize refueling at the Kuril Islands. Transportation of kerosene to the Kurils as well as to Kamchatka will be performed by our tanker “Roshino”, adds Vladimir Spiridonov.

At the present moment the first vertical steel tanks VST-1000 for oil storage and a rail loading rack for oil discharge are being erected. The building of the pump station and the administrative building designed to accommodate the petroleum quality control laboratory have been erected. The project being implemented in the Nizhny Novgorod Region by Aerofuels Group includes construction of a refueling complex with the total capacity amounting to 10900 m3 including eight tanks with the capacity of 1000 m3, a group of administrative buildings and facilities, an oil loading station, a separate railway access branch and a discharge jetty for 6 rail tank cars. The total amount of investments will come to 300 mln rubles. The payback period of the investment program is 5 years. The construction activities are due to finish in the IV quarter of 2012.
In the post-Soviet history it will be the second refueling complex of such capacity built at a Russian airport “from scratch”. Earlier a similar project was implemented only in Kamchatka at the airport Elizovo of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The complex also belongs to Aerofuels Group.

Aerofuels, one of the largest aviation fuel suppliers, has managed to gain support of the Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin in an argument with the administration of the Novosibirsk Airport of Tolmachevo. The official demanded to ensure the work of aviation dispatchers in the air hub, and also initiated a checkup of the current aviation fuel supplier’s affiliation with the owners of Tolmachevo.
Aerofuels Group is one of the leading operators of alternative refueling complexes (TZK, the company owns 8 out of 12 such complexes) in Russia. The company is represented at Tolmachevo, but for three years it has not been able to start work.
As it is mentioned in the letter sent by the general director of Aerofuels Group Vladimir Spiridonov to Igor Sechin (a copy is at the disposal of RBC daily), in 2007 a new refueling complex was built jointly by Tolmachevo Airport and Aerofuels Group. “However, the commencement of work of the new alternative TZK has been hindered by the airport for three years by systematic refusals to perform training of fuel servicing truck drivers on the rules of operation on the apron and, consequently, refusals to issue ID cards for the personnel and documents for the equipment for operations in the civil sector of the airport”, is said in the letter. Mr Spiridonov separately mentions that in 2009-2010 the company fueled 760 flights in the military sector of the airport.

It has been one year since Aerofuels International (one of the leading companies in Aerofuels Group) started its partnership relationships in the sphere of aviation fuel supply for business aviation at European airports with one of the leading oil companies ExxonMobil. In November the direct contract with ExxonMobil was prolonged. According to this contract the list of refueling points in which the companies had cooperated earlier was confirmed – this involves aviation fuel supply in twenty European cities of Germany, England, France, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, etc. In the second year of partnership relationships it has become possible to expand the geography of refueling point twofold and more by enlarging the number of airports in these countries up to fifty.
This has become possible due to the long-standing partnership relationships of Aerofuels Group, which specializes in aviation fuel supply, and ExxonMobil, a colossus of the western oil market. By providing this service to business aviation, Aerofuels International shortens the chain from a customer to a refueller at an airport; this service has not only become cost-effective, it can also be provided in a more mobile way.
“The presence of a contract between Aerofuels International and ExxonMobil has enabled us to perform refueling for the special flights of the Russian delegation in the German city of Lübmin during the official opening ceremony of the gas pipeline “Nord Stream” with the participation of the President of Russia and Germany”, remarked Dmitry Korpachev, commercial director of Aerofuels International.

In the situation of the competitive market at Bolshoye Savino Airport, Transaero has chosen Aerofuels Group as its aviation fuel supplier for the aircrafts in Perm.
“We are glad that our competitive prices and high quality of service enable us to expand the geography of our working relationship with this long-standing partner. For over six years we have been entrusted with refueling Transaero aircrafts. During this time the volume of “into-plane” aviation fuel thanks to the efforts of our TZK has increased eightfold”, says Vladimir Spiridonov, general director of Aerofuels Group. “We strive to support our clients’ plans which concern expanding the number of directions within the Russian Federation, by providing special terms of service at our network of refueling complexes”, he adds.
Aerofuels Perm Refueling Complex has a full certificate of conformity for reception, storage and refueling aircrafts at this airport. The company is a member of the network which comprises 16 refueling complexes owned by Aerofuels Group. The Laboratory of Aerofuels Ufa Refueling Complex has prolonged its certificate for performing control over the quality of aviation fuel and lubricants, which are fueled into aircrafts at the airport of Ufa. The certificate was issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency for the period of 3 years.
This certificate expands the competence of the laboratory, allowing it to perform quality control not only over the aviation kerosene of TS-1 (RT) type, but also of Jet A-1. Moreover, this certificate authorizes to perform control over hydraulic fluids AMG-10, FH-51. Air companies which are based at the airport of Ufa and which are performing maintenance works of their aircrafts have already had the opportunity to use the new services of the laboratory.
Within the framework of the conducted reconstruction of TZK Aerofuels Ufa in 2009-2011 the administration building was especially designed so that the first floor could be set aside for the laboratory. On the whole the reconstruction of the TZK required over 100 mln rubles. As a result the laboratory acquired new facilities and additional equipment. At present the laboratory complex of Aerofuels Group at the airport of Ufa conforms to the latest standards and requirements.

Aerofuels Group has once again been included in the “200 largest private companies” list published by Forbes. This year the company has risen by 10 points and took the 172nd place in the rating.
The rating has been published for 7 years, and “during all these years the closed nature has not prevented its participants from outperforming the country’s economy in their development rate. There is no need to make decisions with consideration of shareholders and demonstrate nice-looking figures in reports - this makes nonpublic companies more stable during crisis”, writes Forbes.
An increase of 9% in tanked fuel and of 29% in revenues in 2010, the expansion of the geographic presence of Aerofuels Group in Russia and abroad – all these factors have allowed the company to demonstrate a rise in its rating.
